Week in Review 5/6 - 5/10

1. In math, we had a show what you know and we had three questions about different frog jumps. We are finishing up our frog jumping unit. We are going to highlight some of our thinking throughout this math journey and share it with our families. FH, AA, WS
2. In writing we are working on historical fiction. Some of the eras that we are writing about are World War II, Civil War, Immigration, and American Revolution. We are creating our characters by thinking about the internal and external features of our characters. We are writing scenes to get to know our characters better and SHOW who they are both inside and outside. We have finished our story preview and have also started writing scenes. RB, CO, DS
3. High Touch High Tech came in to our classroom and taught us about electricity. We learned about static electricity and used Nick's hair as a charger. He lit a pickle up with electricity and we got to see the electriciy run through it. He also taught us how electricity goes through outlets and we made circuits. NL, CO, GS, HS
4. In gym we had the pacer test and then we played T-Ball. AC
5. In reading, we are reading fiction books but we are going to start social issues MONDAY! Miss Sproch is finishing up our assessments! This will be our last reading unit. AN
