Writing
  • We flash drafted our second realistic fiction stories. GG
  • Teachers from the Norwalk Public Schools came to our writing workshop today to learn from us. They watched how Miss Sproch taught us to write, and they watched how we applied strategies she taught to our writing. They even talked with us and helped us with our writing! AA
  • We went through the writing process again to write a second fictional piece. JE
  • We are revising our pieces thinking about using figurative language, the setting, and symbolism. BV
Reading
  • We are continuing to read our historical fiction books with our partners. LD
  • Many of chose new historical books and we also helped Mrs. Blake in the library to clean up the Maker Faire. CL
  • We chose a strategy from the charts that we wanted to work on and get better at and worked towards doing this the entire workshop! CH
  • We were pushing ourselves to notice the character's motivations for acting certain ways. We thought about their roles in the story, their knowledge of the world, and also their religions. WM
  • We were trying to make significant connections with important parts in our stories and show how they are related to one another. IP
  • We continue to pay attention to the setting to notice the mood of the story. AD
