Week in Review 5/29 - 6/1

1. We had Monday off for Memorial Day in honor of the soliders who fought for our country and passed away. HD & EK
2. At recess I made badminton paddles and birdies. It was a big hit! Today we will play doubles! DT
3. The girls made a play and started rehearsing. We are hoping to perform before the end of the year! EK
4. This weeks weather report... it was muggy and humid in the beginning of the week, but luckily it has cooled down and is nicer. SC
5. Emma and Elizabeth helped the first grade field day! EM
6. We are continuing to publish our state books! OM
7. In math, we are trying to figure out different boxes for 24 items using blocks. JD
8. Sport report: The LA Kings beat NJ Devils 2-1 in overtime, with Anze Kopitar with a breakaway goal. RP
9. We are starting to glue our state books together... they are really coming along! RM
10. We had our final Portraits of America for the West region.  We loved the picture of Las Vegas!

11. Today we had a fun "word study." SB
12. In Hollis Woods, we found out why Hollis left Steven and she doesn't want to go back. EK
13. We played math games today! It was fun! JP
14. We are in the last month of the school year... time has really flown by! JA
15. We have 10 compliments and are working toward 20. JD
16. In reading workshop, we are reading partner books learning about social issues. OM
17. We are trying to walk quietly in the hallways to respect other classes that are working. JD
18. We celebrated my summer birthday yesterday. HD
19. Today was the Bach Concert for the 2nd graders. RP
20. There are 9 more days of school. JP
