WRITING:
Finish drafting your in BLUE PEN Test Scene or write a new test scene. You should spend about 15 minutes drafting your scene. Remember to use DIALOGUE, ACTIONS, and THOUGHTS to show what your characters want and their struggles!

Example:
Alex was sitting on the lunch bench on the opposite side from the boys. She stared at Chad, with his football tucked under his left elbow and his apple in his right hand. Alex thought, "You can do this! Just walk over and ask them."
Alex stood up and slowly walked over with her shoulders upright and standing tall. "Chaaad..." Alex whispered.
Chad continued to talk to with the other boys at the table." "Let's come up with some new blitzes today!"
"I can't believe he's doing it again..." Alex's mind went into a downward spiral of negative thoughts. "I thought we were friends." Alex walked back to the end of the table. She sat in silence staring at her food the remainder of lunch. When the bell rang, Alex stood up, threw away her tray of uneaten food, and began to dread what seemed like another recess without football.
