- We worked hard to develop our secondary character would be in our realistic fiction stories. WB

Reading:
- We set reading goals from our pre-assessment responses. ZG
- We are choosing just right books and making sure we always have enough to read on deck! MM
- We are working on logging and jotting consistently! ES
- We thought about the differences between our reading life in school and at home! HH
Math:
- We used our "phonebook" and ripped out pages! RP
- We played a math game with our math partners. We had to make equations to change our starting number. SL
- We are working with place value. We are noticing when numbers change and why! SM
- We made a 1,000 book and are using it to locate numbers. AA
- We played Point and Say! CS
- We learned some new important math vocabulary: sum, difference, inequality, place value, expanded form, addition, subtraction, magnitude. WB
Second Steps:
- We learned about empathy. We also talked about how this would help us throughout the entire school year! PA
Social Studies:
- We started talking about the United States. We learned there are 5 regions and that we live in the Northeast. CW
- We learned that Washington D.C. is the capital of the United States. It is not a state, it s territory. NC
