Homework Monday, January 7th
READING:
Read for 30+ minutes in your JUST RIGHT book and log at HOME. Remember to stop and jot down your thoughts you are having and IDEAS you are growing. Put all of your post-its in your reading notebook.
Use Booksource or Scholastic Book Wizard to create a list of non-fiction JR books. We are going to the library tomorrow! The more JR books you find, the more options you will have :)
Bring any library books you need to return tomorrow!

Week in Review
- We have a new classmate, Nick, and he is great! FD
- In gym we started a new unit! We are playing volleyball. HS
- We had a writing prompt and we had to write about something that we felt really strongly about. AA
- We got back from our 11 and a half day Christmas break. AA
- We did something new in math called Two Pen. You use a red pen and a green pen. You use the green pen for the first two minutes and answer all of the easiest problems. After two minutes you use the red pen for all the problems we did not finish and needed to show work. NL & RB
- We took the Triannual math assessment this week. AC
- We shared our holiday reading projects with one another! AN
- We had a spelling test this week too! WS
- In read aloud, "Tales of a Fourth Grade Nothing", we learned that Fudge is going to be in the commercial for the Toddle Bike and he is being typical Fudge--not cooperative! Mr. Hatcher, his father, is extremely embarassed because Fudge is unpredictable and he doesn't want anything bad to happen in front of his boss. DS
- In social studies, we are starting to learn about the Southeast. We are all studying the states and capitals. We have our test on Wednesday. HS & RB
- We are still trying to find JR books. RB
- We still have one compliment to go! We need to work on our transitions because we are extremely chatty! GS
- Nick is sharing some really cool stuff from his life so we can get to know him better! HP
